….what does being Lesbian have anything to do with cooking? They are still probably good chefs and make great food for a healthy lifestyle, why would it be any different from buying a cookbook by a straight author?

Not in the least. I probably wouldn’t want to buy a book from someone whose politics I disagreed with, but sexual orientation isn’t politics.
I promise you that there isn’t a food on the planet that will make you gay. Buying a cookbook from these folks supports their veganism, not their sex lives.
If you have issues with certain types of relationships, don’t buy books about that type of relationship. If, for example, you think certain kinds of sex are wrong (say, anything other than missionary), don’t buy a sex manual. But a cookbook? That’s just weird.
