All you need to do to see that homosexuality is a sin is read Romans 1. God makes it quite clear that He hates homosexuality. It is not natural. God created Adam and Eve, Not Adam and Steve….
Someone else said, love the sinner, hate the sin. Amen to that.

From a Catholic perspective homosexuals are not scorned, they are not condemned, only their actions are. Current teaching in the church states that sexual intercouse should solely take place within the confines of a marriage. The criticism of homosexual sexual relations is the same as that of heterosexual sexual realtions oputside of marriage. A key item is that the person is NEVER condemned for their actions.

First of all, because it is the will of GOD, which is always to be obeyed. Yet, for some this is not enough they want to know “Why?” Historically, particularly by biblical history, we can show that people tend to grow wicked over time, such as in Sodom and Ghamorra, and in the antideluvian world before the flood. In such societies pleasures of the flesh become a master over a LOVE FOR GOD, which is the same as a LOVE FOR NEIGHBOR. Further, Imagine a utopian society in which all people either married and had a family or remained celibate? This is in keeping with GOD’S commandment in the book of Genesis.
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Homosex relationships are referred to as an abomination. It is right then that if your preference is homosex, you are called to chastity, to overcome for THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Over and over again it is said be not of the flesh, yet it is equally said that it is good to be fruitful and multiply. However neither of these biblical commandments are consistent with homosex. The only reason then to have such relationships are for one’s own personal sexual pleasure.
We are to embrace a spiritual outlook, which is in denial of all things of the flesh. When you see that truth and realize that you have an everlasting soul, you will know, that the things of the flesh will diminish your spiritual LOVE.
Further, you do not see the LOVE that Christians have for you, because homosexuals often not only want general acceptance, they want more people to be homosexual, as if it is normal, which it is not, most people prefer heterosex relationships. The Early Bible calls for a good stoning to homosexuals, the death penalty. However, JESUS has taught us, that we are to forgive, for not one of us is without sin, and in that we wish our sin to be forgiven, in the same manner extend forgiveness in LOVE to all others. Which is the reason you don’t see good Christians out stoning people, as early Jews did. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Furthermore, in your statement, “LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU”, JESUS goes on to say, “THE GREATEST ACT OF LOVE IS TO GIVE YOUR LIFE FOR YOUR FRIENDS” LOVE is sacrifice. If you LOVE JESUS you will do what JESUS wants, good children obey their parents even if they don’t always understand why. So, if you LOVE JESUS do as JESUS wants, and do not engage in homosex. Make this sacrifice FOR THE LORD. If you do not you LOVE the homosex more than you LOVE JESUS. And a man cannot have two masters.
I hope some of this makes sense to you. Yet, you will even while reading this choose a master, be it sin (the sin of homosex) or JESUS. Choose JESUS as MASTER of your LIFE, because JESUS IS LIFE. Amen.

Because while they may profess to know the bible front and back they have yet to LEARN what it teaches. It teaches against it, yes, but it also says hatred and prejudice are worse and judge not. They haven’t LEARNED that yet and use it to back up their own prejudice and bigotry.

You are dealing with misguided Christians. I despise homosexuality just as I despise drug usage, idolatry, taking the Lord’s name in vain, etc. However I do not hate the people that do these things. I love them and desperately want them to know that there is a God who loves them not matter what and wants to spend eternity with them in Paradise and not separate from God in an eternal realm of pain and torture.

I don’t scorn gays and lesbians, so I hope you weren’t meaning to be overly general and stereotypical with your question. I have worked with several gays and lesbians and I have had no problems. To the best of my knowledge none of them were ever offended by anything I did or said. They knew I was a Christian (or maybe not) but there were never any problems.

Please don’t generalize that ALL Christians scorn gays and lesbians. Not all Christians do that…I don’t. I truly follow and believe God’s Word that homosexuality is wrong, but I don’t hate homosexuals. God loves them no matter what they do, so I try to do the same. We aren’t supposed to condemn them, but love them no matter what. Jesus did say, “I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.” (John 15:12) Jesus loved all sinners (prostitutes, thieves, etc.). This means we should love people, especially the ones that we believe are doing wrong things. There are a lot of Christians that are still learning just how to do this. Unconditional love is supposed to be what separates Christians from everyone else. I will say that there are a lot of Christians who do condemn homosexuals. Just to let you know, though, that’s not what they’re supposed to do.

i know! im a christian and i cant believe what people say to others just because they are not like them. its so dumb! after a christian wedding one time i acidently said hell and didnt realize it. the ladies who were sitting next to me turned to one another and one of them said “did u hear the word that just came out of her filthy mouth?” i was shocked! they could of asked me in a polite way to watch what i say and i would of done it. sometimes its people like them that crush other christians and other peoples feelings just because they are not perfect like they think they are. no one is perfect and those ladies think they were. secondly they dont know who the person is, is because they judge what they look like on the outside. those ladies dont know my heart and they think that since im not perfect like them i can as well go to hell, more room in heaven for them.i forgive those ladies for what they said about me. its people like them and many others who concider themselves christian give christians a bad name.
