actually some of my friends are quite the opposite, they are always telling me to “go for it”, “deal with it”, “just talk to him”…that sorta stuff…but i do know that some women are very protective over their gfs and can see what the guy is really like and therefore tell them to move on

Honey, the advice depends on the situation. Of course no one wants to tell another person to leave the one they are with for petty reasons, but there are situations where that sort of advice is called for.
