I notice a high number of Christians who are all anti-evolution and anti-any-opinion-but-their’s on Yahoo Answers… I thought computers were the devil in born-again cults?

I’m Catholic and almost every priest, bishop, even monk I’ve spoken with has told me the Bible being taken literally (as it is with wacko Christians) is basically idol-worshipping where the symbols are words and phrases rather than golden cows. All of them also think evolution exists (even the Vatican acknowledges that evolution – not creationism – should be taught in the classroom!!!) and don’t doubt its existance, but see God as the prime mover (as he is in St. Thomas Aquinas’ logic)…

So born-agains, et al… Please answer me:

Why do you have so much hate in you that drives you to oppress the rights of gay and lesbian couples?

Why do you claim to stand for the love of Christ when you refuse to reconcile with the Catholic Church and prejudice against Catholicism?

Why do you work to undermine science?
If you think illiterate peasants and Canaanite oral story tellers whose words have been translated and reworked and revised from oral to Phonecian to Greek to Latin to 18th century English are reliable sources for who and how someone or thing created matter, earth, the milky way, and the universe, you’re a wacko Christian. Period.
As for extremism, why is it the monks in the Catholic church keep quiet and to themselves and reconcile and purify themselves without going on TV shows telling gay people they’re going to hell.

Who the hell are you (wacko Christians) to determine what characteristics of a person dooms them to hell? What arrogance! You have some really sick definitions of the word “love” if you think it means taking it upon yourself to communicate and “spread the word”. Does anyone think spreading the word of God is cultural imperialism? How to wacko Christians justify destroying the national traditions of countless peoples and cultures in favor of forcing them to be submissive followers of their religion? (this can be proven by the fact that the vast majority of Cardinals in the Catholic Church are from Europe even though most Christians are from overseas)
Thank God the Catholic Church formed if your accusation is true! If Christianity in its non-Catholic form spread throughout the western Mediterranean, the western tradition would have died and we’d ALL be wacko Christians!!! The Roman Catholic church is the ONLY reason the ancient texts of our ancestors survived and allowed the western powers to rise into prosperity in the high middle ages. If Christianity in its wacko form had spread throughout Europe Cicero, Plato, Sophocles would have been BURNED!

Catholics worship what the icons represent, not the icons themselves. How come you love Jesus but not his mother who bore him? Do you hate your mother? Do you hate your Grandmother? Do you hate the Roman Empire that executed Christ even though its the nation that spread the word of God to all corners of Europe? Stop looking at the world in black and white, wacko.
