I am 19 years old and in college. I am afraid to date. I am afraid of the opposite sex ( not that I’m lesbian) and feel that I could never sustain a realtionship. I would like to and dream of the day I find a man I can really relate to and like. I was very sheltered when I was young, I never went out with friends and that made my friendships really suffer ( I cannot tell you the amount of friend opportunites with good people I missed) simply because my parents/( mom) didnt know them or thier parents and were scared. I never went to sporting evens.I was an only child and basically my life was home,school,church,piano lessons. Well I need help with this, Im almost embarrased to have a boyfriend ’cause I dont understand how relationships work and am afraid to talk with my parents about this.I’ve never had a boyfriend before. I am really just afraid of what my parents would think, I mean they know I am growing up,but I feel embarrased to say I have a significant other to them. Any help?
