If, from what I’m gathering, so many people really don’t have a problem with Gay/Lesbians getting married. So why or how do “we the people” allow the politicians turn it into such a major issue? I just don’t get it.

Can somebody tell me how would allowing gay/lesbian couples marry have any effect on the sanctity of marriage?
Wouldn’t the high divorce rate of hetro couples be more harmfull to said sanctity? One more question. With our brave young men and women of the US Armed Forces over fighting a war Don’t you think our politicians should have more important things to worry about.
