is it sad if i kinda want to be a lesbian and the only thing stopping me is my religion???what do i do???

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender: Religious beliefs?
I’ve noticed how people have asked about WHY people are gay, and I’ve answered, but my answer is shot down. I fall under the label of “gay” and I’ve noticed that religion often plays a large part in the beliefs of “straight” people… and sometimes LBGT as well. But with straight people, religion is often the “answer” to the gay question. I respect peoples’ beliefs, but mine is the following:
Religion is BS. Religion was a bunch of stories made up to satisfy our curiousity hundreds of years ago, and the newer religions being created are often looked at as rediculous cult-like organizations.. simply because we know better than to believe such outrageousness. The older religions are perpetuated simply due to their seniority. If life were as simple as trusting a book of tales, why are there so many different religions? Religion holds the human race back while SCIENCE brings us forward. Why move backwards? WE KNOW BETTER

Is there any religion or God that accepts gays and lesbians?
If so, will they accept people who are attracted to animals?
how do you tell your overly-religous christian mom that you’ve decided on a different religion?
I’ve decided to pursue Paganism, once I turn 18, (in another year), and i find it really uncomfortable to go to church with her, because i don’t believe in half the sermons. I don’t want to throw this at her, cause 9 months ago, I came out as a lesbian, and that gave her a near heart-attack; and she’s just starting to get used to it now. can anyone help with advice? should I wait until i’m 18 and off at college?

PS: in light of lovely answers… i’ve had a few laughs… i’m ok with Paganism. and I know of most of what it consist of.. and i’m not in it as a fashion statement or as a teenage thing. I’m serious about this, and i appreciate everyone advice! thanks.
i hate how you can’t edit this thing…. lol… thanks willywyo for you lovely advice, i think i’ll follow it and to the others, thanks as well… to those who are like “satan has captured you…” saying stuff like that, isn’t exactly helpful. i think that if you voice your opinions in a nice yet joking manner, i’ll be more resceptable to them. like someone said “Hey mom, I’ve decided to let my soul perish..” i thought that was funny. so yeah… thanks
I America a religious nation?
We say that we have separated religion from state but all the while Bush’s reason for being against gay and lesbian marriages is that it is against God. All the more though there were many more important issues in our nation- Iraq for example. This really got a strir out of people.
