After all this time, WHY IS THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW still “popular” and on the air ? It’s degrading garbage!!
Every show is VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL to the previous show, with lesbian transsexuals fighting their wives, black men wearing dresses and claiming they are “gay”, but still love their “girlfriends” (who may or may not be anatomically a female).
Why do people still want to watch this show ? It’s been on – how many years now ? – and the subject matter (much less “flashing your breasts”, etc.) HAS NOT CHANGED ONE IOTA !
Does watching this “trailer trash/lower-class type” characters REALLY make the rest of us feel “superior” ? I know a lot of these “situations” have to be fabricated, because they are just too ridiculous to be believed (plus, “contestants” get a free overnight LUXURY HOTEL ROOM and some spending money for being on the show).
Does this say something about our society ? Our level of “smugness” at laughing at other people’s misfortune (however ridiculous it may appear on TV) ? What do you think ?
