Where is lesbian marriage legal?
In which countries/states/territories around the world can lesbians be married?
AND
In which countries/states/territories where it is illegal is a lesbian marriage recognised as a legal union if it was performed somewhere else where it IS legal to be married as lesbians?
Sorry the questions a bit obtuse, it’s hard to phrase succinctly. Basically, me and my gal wanna get hitched, and want to know a) where we can get have a legal/civil ceremony and b) where we can go in the world where it will be rocognised. our jobs take us around the world, you see.
Cool, does anyone know any more? I heard Massachusetts? (sorry if that’s badly spelt, I’m Australian!!)
By “free countries recognise equal rights”, do you mean if my marriage is legal where it happened, it will be recognised in other countries too?
Also, do I need local residence to be married legally in any of these places?
If I become a citizen/resident of a country which DOESN’T allow lesbian marriage, will they still recognise it?
